About Harsha Harjani

I started my career in Hong Kong, helping to sell a city to the world — organising press missions, leading trade delegations, and building relationships with international media from Moscow to Mumbai to Jeddah. Over the next two decades, I worked across Asia and Europe at some of the world’s leading financial services organisations.

At Prudential, I helped launch a charitable foundation from scratch, managed the rebrand of their Asia asset management business across 13 markets, and advised the regional CEO and Chairman on everything from financial results communications to employee engagement.

Later, at the ISSB, I spent a year at the heart of global sustainability standards — working directly with the Chair and Vice-Chair as the organisation shaped how companies around the world report on sustainability.

Growing up Indian in British Hong Kong and staying through its handover to China in 1997, gave me an early understanding of how identity, politics, and communication intersect. A career that has since taken me from Budapest to Delhi to Frankfurt, and seen me work with media and stakeholders across more than 40 countries, has only deepened that understanding. That cross-cultural fluency, knowing how different audiences think, what they value, and how they receive information, is at the heart of how I work. 

I moved to London in my late thirties with a one-way ticket and built my career from scratch in a new city. That experience of starting over, of navigating unfamiliar territory with confidence shapes how I work with every client. 

In 2026 I founded Caine Strategies, named after the road in Hong Kong where I grew up. The name is a reminder of where I came from — and of the value of knowing your own story before you try to tell it to the world.
